My husband and I just returned from our trip to New York and our stay at Ink48. I just want to thank you for putting this together for us, we were extremely pleased with our stay at Ink48.

The hotel is not quite complete yet. The exterior is covered with scaffholding and no restaurants or bars are yet open in the hotel. None of this bothered us at all, although I suppose others might care. At least while we were there, the hotel tries to offset the absence of restaurants/bars by including a complimentary continental breakfast and complimentary wine hour in the evening. Although the continental breakfast was not at all memorable, that it was offered was appreciated. And the complimentary evening wine was a nice touch.

The room was small but definitely adequate. I especially liked that everything was new and fresh. Contrary to my initial concerns, we were not put off by the 11th Avenue location in the least. That area has changed sufficiently over the years and now is no problem at all. In fact, we enjoyed being able to walk easily both to Times Square and to Lincoln Center, being outside major congestion was also a plus.

My thoughts would not be complete without also touching on the staff at Ink48 they could not have been more accommodating.

You spent a good deal of time on the phone with me when I first made inquiry about a hotel. Because of your patience in listening to what was important to us, you found a near perfect fit at an extremely advantageous price. I want you to know how successful your efforts were and how very much they were appreciated.

We had a fantastic trip. We had the most distgustingly delicious sandwiches at the Carnegie Deli. They were HUGE!! We went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and had a lot of fun and took a lot of fun photos. We had been to the one in London 10 years ago and thought we would get to see the new people! We mostly went to visit our daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Ian. Lisa is a stylist at Mizu Salon on Park Ave. If you ever want a great haircut and be treated like royalty, give Lisa a call! The Hilton was awesome. It was very clean and the room was very good size. The bed was devine!!! We slept like babies. Check in was quick, despite being very busy. Check out was making a phone call and leaving the keys in the room. The hotel was in walking distance of Rockerfeller Center, Radio City, Broadway, St. Patricks and more! It was perfect for us. Do not tell anyone - ha ha! . . . we want to be able to book easily again.

Everything was great!

It is always a great experience when an impulsive, last minute preparation like this greatly exceeds expectations. Of course, NYC being what it is deserves some credit too.

We were very pleased with Smyth Tribeca and its friendly, courteous, staff. The hotels decor and cleanliness were nice treats too. Yes, the frosted glass wall in our room and the rooms other features were all very nice luxuries.

We really enjoyed the locale. Upon arriving, we quickly surveyed the local restaurants and enjoyed a couple glasses wine to begin celebrating our anniversary and trip. Then, we consulted with Smyths concierge for recommendations among the small set that established which narrowed down to dining at Restaurant Marc Forgione. This too turned to be another great last minute preparation. The food, staff, and dcor were all excellent.

Another nice treat for us was that the subway entrance was just feet away from Smyths entrance. Since we travelled the entire trip using just rail transportation, this was a nice unexpected convenience. The play was quite enjoyable. I grew up listening to hours of Four Seasons tunes while riding along in my fathers trunk when he picked up fresh and frozen fish at NYCs docks, fish markets, and cold storages throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn during the mid-1960s. That is bygone era long ago when the Seaport was something much, much different. So, it was quite enjoyable as it was entertaining and somewhat of a history lesson as well.

After check out, we finished the trip by walking back to Penn Station and strolling around Soho and the Village along the way.

As you now know, you have to appreciate yourself as much as we both do for enhancing our weekend stay beyond expectations. I intend to certainly consult with Magellan Vacations in the future. After our return, my wife, Marlene browsed are the web and was quite amazed at the lodging price that you arranged for us.

Our stay at The London NYC was perfect. We have stayed there before and will definitely stay there again when we return to New York to visit our daughter or for any other reason. The hotel is lovely. Very nice rooms with a comfortable bed, nice linens, a stylish, roomy bathroom with a great shower. The staff was helpful, but not overbearing, and we love the midtown location. We loved running in the park in the mornings and walking less than a block to go to the MOMA. And I think the hotel is reasonably priced for a fairly deluxe experience in New York. We have stayed at other more expensive hotels and had far inferior rooms and service. Michael agrees with this assessment completely. He loves the London.

We really enjoyed it! The bed was like sleeping in luxury!! The most comfortable bed in the city so far -and I have stayed at many hotels. They upgraded us to a bigger room on the 14th floor and greeted us with smiles. It was pure luxury all the way- especially the bathroom. The only downside was breakfast. Mini danish and coffee in the lobby bar since the resturant is not open yet -but it was complimentary!

Your description of everything was right on. I felt like I was talking to one of my girlfriends and you gave the best advise. I am glad we listened! We go into the city often and no longer have our apt. -we gave it up this past February. We would like to come in again in October with both of our girls ages 8 and 4 and could use your suggestions. I will also need an inexpensive hotel for a couple of Girl Scouts in the Theatre District for 1 night on January 30th.

Thank you for your follow-up email regarding accommodation at The Mansfield. I have just returned to Australia and can honestly say the trip to New York was unbelievably fantastic.

The Mansfield was excellent for the following reasons -

The position was perfect being centrally located to many attractions.
Whilst the room was small it was very clean and comfortable.
The lobby area and the library added an element of character to the hotel.
Staff were courteous and helpful.
Felt was value for money considering the position.

If there were any negatives, they were small and I am listing them below -

As mentioned previously, the room was small - but we sort of expected that anyway by New York standards.
Breakfast was adequate but nothing out of the box - small selection - would be better if it was buffet style.

Lasha, in closing, I would also like to say how fantastic you and your fellow colleagues were at Magellan making the trip to New York that much easier to organise. Your professionalism and attention to my many emails was very much appreciated and I would have no hesitation in using your organisation again for my travel needs and also be very comfortable in referring family, friends and colleagues to you. "Hello, Carla. I first have to thank you tremendously for sending me to 60 Thompson. This hotel is perfectly situated in the cozy heart of SoHo - a favorite place of mine to visit in NY. I have previously stayed at one other Thompson hotel in the city so I knew what to expect - almost. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by Mike the doorman, who graciously took my bag and escorted me upstairs to the expansive lobby and reception area. The ladies at the front desk were smiling and welcomed me - who says New Yorkers arent friendly! - and offered me an upgrade to the Deluxe King room. This room not only had an abundance of natural light, but was a quiet corner room with a huge bathroom with tub - two of my requests. In addition, it was spotless - a big factor in my book! The concierge, Chris, made me a reservation at Devachan, an excellent spa within walking distance of the hotel. Afterwards, I retreated back to the hotel lobby where happy hour was offered and relaxed until dinner. Every employee I came in contact with was warm and ready to please, taking customer service to a new level for the Thompson properties.

As you know, I have already rebooked another stay at 60 Thompson for November and cannot wait to live it all over again!

Finally, I appreciate your recommendation for 60 Thompson and attention to my personal requests. Since I travel a fair share, I am always at ease in booking a trip with Magellan, knowing I will be in such good hands with you. "Mika, you are amazing, thanks for remembering what we wanted to do. We loved our trip, the hotel was very nice. Everyone was very sweet and attentive. The minute we walked in the door I was offered a glass of wine and bag service. The room was clean and cute, the shower pressure was awesome, and the bed was cozy. The only complaint would be the traffic noise. I kept checking to see if the windows were open - it was so loud. But it did not affect my sleep. We left early the next morning to walk the Brooklyn Bridge as we were told it was suppose to start raining at 10 am and continue all day. So out we went and the pizza and ice cream place did not open until 11 am so we did not get a chance to do the ones we planned on, but we did taste some others. Overall, we had a fantastic NY experience. We could not have done it without you. Your advice about the cabs into the city were right on. They tried to tell me the cab was more money than it really was, so I turned to the lady next to me and we shared a cab into the city. I would not have thought to do so had you not told me about the maximum cab fare. The chowhound board was a great idea too, I used it as well. You were so much more than a hotel booking agent, I felt you were my friend who cared about my trip - thank you so very much. "Dear Sandra, Holy Cow! If I could, I would live there. This is a letter that I wrote to them - - - To Whom It May Concern, I am not sure if I am addressing this to the correct mailbox, but if not, I would appreciate it if you would forward this to the appropriate person. My name is Robyn and I was a guest at the hotel on June 11th, 2009 to the 12th. I was booked through Sandra at Magellan Vacations who has done all of my travel accommodations for the past 12 monthly trips I have made to NY. The reason for my letter is this. If I were to rate my stay at the Mandarin Oriental on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the highest possible score, I would have to rate my stay a 3,765. From the moment I stepped out of the car Patrick took my bag and told me exactly where to go. I was amazed at the beautiful lobby and the lovely woman who checked me in at the reception desk could not be more helpful. I went to my room and soon my luggage came with a smiling bellman who must have thought I had never been to a hotel before. I was so entertained that I was staying where I could extend my arms all the way out in the bathroom and I did not touch any walls. I was offered water, coffee, tea, shown all the different views from my room. It was spectacular. I immediately e-mailed Sandra at Magellan to thank her for the suggestion to stay here. It was right in between the lunch and dinner hour, so I asked the concierge, Daniel, where I could just grab a quick bite and he suggested the third floor. The elevator doors opened and I was in a mall. The angels started singing. The heavens opened. It was AWESOME! I came back with a full stomach and 4 shopping bags. I chatted with the staff a bit and found out there was a woman from Skokie, my hometown, working at the concierge as well. Later in the evening after my meeting was over, the restaurant overlooking the circle was closing, but the host was going out of his way to retrieve whatever I desired. I really felt pampered and taken care of in a very special way. Not a brown-nose, snooty sort of thing you would imagine you would see on tv. But a genuine care for the guest. The next day back in the lobby restaurant, the same host came back and spoke with me and my friend. He remembered my name - and it is not an easy last name - and was so nice. Of course, Daniel was wonderful and so warm. It was truly one of my best trips to NY, and I have been coming every month for over a year and a half. How I decided to come to the MO was this is one of my 2nd to last trips and I asked Sandra for a recommendation of hotels that I HAVE to stay at before my trips are over. I cannot think of anything that would have made my stay any better other than maybe someone sprinkling rose petals on the floor wherever I walked, or someone to tuck me in and sing me to sleep. Maybe if it were raining 100 bills on my head. Short of that, it was perfect. I wanted to acknowledge your amazing staff and your beautiful hotel. I wish I could have remembered everybodys name that served me so well the days I was there. I am grateful and hope to come back soon. - - - So, yeah, it was ok. LOL. It was spectacular. On the plane trip to NY I met a woman from a city close to mine and she had been wanting to take a class where I teach - Sheila Kelly S-factor www.sfactor.com/chi - and so I gave her a free class. She was so happy, she offered me a ride in her hired car to her hotel and then I could cab to my hotel. Well, the driver took me to my hotel, kept in contact with me the whole trip, and sent a town car to pick me up on friday and took me back to the airport for free. AND, he is gorgeous. I am such a lucky girl. I am coming back in July, so I will be making my plans in the next few weeks. I have passed your name on to several girls and told them to ask for you specifically and tell you they know me. A couple more adventures left. I cannot wait to see what they will bring. Woo hoo! "Hello Sandra, she did say yes. The proposal was perfect, I had so much fun during the entire process. Very briefly, when she arrived at the hotel I was in the security room of the Mandarin. I saw her being greeted at reception. The hotel manager congratulated her at the reception desk and than advised her that her friends flight was delayed and that her dinner with the WaySpa representative was being moved up half an hour. The WaySpa agent was being played to be an employee from the Hotel. After my finacee got ready, she was escorted to the restaurant. After a brief ice breaker with the WaySpa agent, the agent got up and said to my fiancee - I have more surprises for you courtesy of the contest you won. The agent went to retrieve me. I walked up to the table and my fiancees jaw immediately dropped and I followed by getting down on one knee and proposed. She was so shocked and in tears that she forgot to say yes. I had to tell her to stop crying so she could say yes. Sandra, I would personally like to thank you for making this such a wonderful and pleasant weekend. None of this would have been possible had it not been for your help. How would we be able to send you a small gift as a token of our appreciation. Really you did a fantastic job. I would not have been able to afford the ring and the Mandarin had you not offered the special discount. Thank you. As for the Mandarin, I tipped the people that helped me propose and took a few pictures to put in our wedding slide show. I am speechless about the hotel. I have never stayed at a place which is beautiful and has outstanding customer service. I would recommend the Mandarin to anyone, it is an amazing hotel. The Trump Towers was superb, the room and view were just what we had hoped for! The service at the Trump was second to none, the room itself large and very comfortable. New York was awesome, with great weather, superb opportunity for long walks in Central Park, and the shopping along 5th Ave, Madison Ave etc. some great restaurants too, all around the area and every meal was memorable. We have stayed in five star hotels throughout the world and in NYC enjoyed the Peninsula, Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton. In many ways, the Omni beats out those hotels! Its location was brilliant - I adored the rooftop pool, and my friend was pleased with what the gym had to offer. Although thanks to the UK economy our retail therapy did not happen - everything seemed expensive due to the exchange rate - the trip cheered our spirits no end, and we would both happily go back there again! I wanted you to know two things - The hotel was PERFECT for us, and the rate came down about 20 after we booked, thanks to Magellans negotiations and the staff at The London couldnt have been more complimentary to Magellan. Because I booked through you, I was given the largest room with a separate bedroom on the highest floor in the price category I booked in, the 37th floor. They love your business! Booking through Magellan was a great advantage. I would not have found the hotel without you, I would not have gotten such a favorable rate, and I would not have been given preferred status. "Hey, hello it is Joseph here. I just arrived in London now and the weather is absolutely disgusting. I just have to tell you that the hotel was magnificent and I cannot even find anything to complain about. They upgraded us to an even better room with our own lounge and kitchen area, I was so amazed with that service.I found some champagne and glasses to enjoy our honeymoon, thank you sooooo much. I just have to say that the Affinia 50 might be a small 3.5 star hotel, but it has a very big personality to it. The three doormen who work there were amazing and so helpful, they really looked after us so well. They directed us everywhere and how to get to places and helped us all the way with our suitcases, and this is what I call service with a smile. That is why I will be going there next time I go to New York. The cruise was the best ever. The Caribbean was so beautiful and especially when you are on the big massive ship looking at the sea and all the different islands around you. The weather was sooooo hot that I got sun burnt the first day, ouch. The beaches were just out of this world, so nice and tidy, so clean and we took tours every day around every island for 5 hours and it was a holiday of fun and one not to forget. I can tell you that you made it fun for us cuz we felt really comfortable in that hotel. Thank you so much again."

"Leanne, the hotel was perfect! The lobby was very grand, they had self-service check in, the room was tastefully decorated and pretty large for NYC. The location could not have been better with its connection to Grand Central Station. Due to the cold weather we actually ended up enjoying an afternoon in Grand Central, visiting the Market, sitting down to have some coffee and making our way through the shops. As an added bonus for our two 13 year old boys, the Jonas brothers were staying at our hotel and as a result they got to meet them, and get their autographs and pictures taken with them and were thrilled. For New Years Eve we actually dined at Jean Georges right at The Trump. It was magnificent. There was a 7 course tasting menu plus a matching wine menu. Just incredible. Although we were not in the hotel all that much during our two night stay, we were able to enjoy the executive club, the gym and spa. Both were excellent and very well equipped. The hotel gym was great and I look forward to utilizing the spa if and when we have an occasion to stay there again. Although we did not have a chance to dine at Guilt we did relax and enjoy the bar. "Joey, my husband and I had a great time at the St. Regis last night. It was a much-needed mini-vacation. The room was just as you described it, old world and comfortable. The service at the hotel is impeccable. The bathroom was grand but not huge again, just as you had described. We are thinking about a vacation in mid-May. We cannot make up our minds between doing a Washington, D.C. and Virginia trip or going to London. On the one hand, my husband is a huge American history buff and would very much like to do a D.C. trip. Also, with the dollar so weak, we thought this might be a good time to have a US-based vacation. On the other hand, life is short and a 5 day trip to London could be great. My husband has never been to Europe and I think a short trip to London -- with a day trip to Paris -- is the best and easiest way to start. I have not traveled very much, either, but I have been to London and Paris. I will call you in a week or so to pick your brain and try to get the ball rolling on some reservations. Our hotel room in NYC was perfect - overlooking Central Park and it was much more spacious than I had expected, with a full kitchenette as well. The hotel did a great job once they found out we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary - gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne, a free limo out to dinner and overall great service to all guests. As a side note, it would normally be very late for looking at the fall leaves but Central Park was simply picturesqe, given the leaves had not yet fallen.
